My name is Lara and I am extremely passionate about Sports Massage and Relaxation Therapy.
I have been treating family, friends and referred customers for many years with huge successes, even after one treatment.
These successes and the personal satisfaction they bring, have led me to set-up Smart Massage – Sports Massage and Relaxation Therapy Cwmbran.
For me, the key to a successful massage is remembering that it is ‘Your Massage’. You say where things hurt/ache or are tender and I work within your pressure requirements to alleviate/reduce or even get rid of the problem where possible.
Muscles work well most of the time, but occasionally they get over worked, strained, shortened or even pulled doing something really simple, so they need to be rebalanced. During your treatment my challenge is to try and identify what is causing/has caused your problem and help you to prevent it happening again (or happening as badly).
Originally massage was my hobby but I loved it so much that I turned it into a business 7 years ago and haven’t looked back. I thoroughly enjoy fixing/reducing clients problems and helping them identify how they occurred in the first place and how to prevent them happening again.
One of my recent clients referred to my hands as being ‘magic’ and a long standing client told me I had “Radar Hands” – I always seem to know where the problems are.
Smart Massage is the trading name of Lara Strong, a professional sports massage therapist working in Cwmbran, South Wales. I qualified in relaxation (Holistic) massage in 2006 and in Sports Massage in 2009. My clinic has been based on the ground floor at Goodes Fitness since 2018, which is a great location. It is close to Cwmbran town centre & Railway Station and has a huge free public car park outside. Although my room is quite small, it is warm, cosy and kept clean at all times. I still carry out the covid cleaning practices after each client and pride myself on making the room welcoming for each client.
